Bastard

Describing any typographic element, such as a font size, line length, or page dimension, that deviates from the established standard for a particular publication or job. This non-standard measurement requires special handling during typesetting and layout. For example, a column of text set to a unique width not used elsewhere in the design is referred to as a bastard measure.
