Breastheight

A standard reference point for measuring the diameter of a standing tree, typically defined as 4.5 feet (1.37 meters) above the ground on the uphill side of the tree. This consistent measurement, known as Diameter at Breast Height (DBH), allows for accurate comparisons of tree size and growth rates. It is a fundamental parameter in forest inventory and timber volume estimation.
