Trees that have grown beyond the sapling stage but have not yet reached sawtimber size, characterized by a diameter at breast height (DBH) generally between 5 and 10 inches. These trees are suitable for products such as utility poles, fence posts, or pulpwood. Poletimber stands represent an intermediate stage in forest development.
