The common name for the Avro Canada CF-100, a Canadian-designed and built all-weather interceptor aircraft. Maintenance on these vintage jet aircraft, which were in service from 1952 to 1981, now involves specialized procedures for preserving airframes, engines, and systems for museum display or limited flight. This work addresses age-related material degradation, such as metal fatigue and corrosion, and the scarcity of original spare parts for its Orenda turbojet engines.
