Cap flashing

A protective metal strip installed over the top edge of another flashing or a wall component to prevent water penetration. It acts as a cover, shedding water away from vulnerable joints and transitions in building envelopes. Cap flashing is commonly made from materials like aluminum, copper, or galvanized steel, and is bent to direct water flow.
