Base flashing

A component of a roofing system that provides a waterproof seal at the intersection of a roof and a vertical surface, such as a wall or chimney. It directs water away from these vulnerable areas to prevent leaks and moisture intrusion. This flashing is typically made from sheet metal, such as copper, aluminum, or galvanized steel, or from flexible membrane materials.
