Roof curb

A raised frame or platform installed on a flat or low-slope roof to provide a level and waterproof mounting surface for rooftop equipment such as HVAC units, skylights, or exhaust fans. It elevates the equipment above the roof surface, preventing water penetration and allowing for proper flashing and insulation. Roof curbs are typically constructed from galvanized steel or aluminum and are designed to integrate with the roofing membrane.
