An abbreviation for cubic centimeter, a unit of volume equal to that of a cube measuring one centimeter on each side. In manufacturing and engineering, it is used to specify the volume of small parts, fluid dispensing amounts, or the displacement of an engine's cylinders. One cubic centimeter is the metric equivalent of one milliliter (mL).
