Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001056
A branch of fluid mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), that uses numerical analysis and algorithms to solve and analyze problems involving fluid flow. It involves creating a virtual model of a system and applying mathematical equations, such as the Navier-Stokes equations, to simulate the movement of liquids or gases and their interaction with surfaces. Results are visualized as color-mapped plots of pressure, velocity, or temperature, and are validated against experimental data from wind tunnels or flow benches.
