Continuum mechanics
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001326
A branch of mechanics that analyzes the behavior of materials modeled as continuous masses rather than discrete particles. It studies the motion and deformation of materials under external forces, assuming the material fills space without voids. This approach applies to solids, liquids, and gases, forming the basis for fields like fluid dynamics and elasticity.
