Cotton wax

A natural waxy substance present on the surface of raw cotton fibers, which contributes to their water repellency and luster. This wax can be removed during textile processing, such as scouring, to improve the absorbency of the fabric for dyeing and finishing. The amount of wax varies depending on the cotton variety and growing conditions.
