Wax point

The temperature at which paraffin wax begins to separate from crude oil or petroleum products as the temperature decreases. This phenomenon can lead to the formation of solid wax crystals, which can accumulate and restrict flow in pipelines, filters, and production equipment. The wax point is determined by laboratory testing methods such as ASTM D3117.
