A method of joining two pieces of wood using interlocking trapezoidal pins and tails, forming a strong and aesthetically pleasing connection. This joint is highly resistant to being pulled apart, making it suitable for drawer construction, box corners, and fine furniture. The angle of the dovetail pins typically ranges from 1:6 for softwoods to 1:8 for hardwoods.
