Dowel

A cylindrical pin, usually made of wood, metal, or plastic, used to join two adjacent components or to provide alignment. It is inserted into corresponding holes drilled in each piece, creating a hidden and secure connection. Dowels are widely used in woodworking for furniture construction and in masonry to connect precast concrete elements.
