Spline

A thin, flat strip of wood or other material inserted into corresponding grooves cut into the edges of two pieces of wood to join them together. This method provides increased surface area for glue, enhancing the strength and alignment of the joint. Splines are commonly used in edge-to-edge glue-ups, miter joints, and frame-and-panel construction.
