Spline
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003547
A flexible curve or surface that passes through a given set of control points, used for interpolation and smoothing of data. In reservoir characterization, splines are employed to create continuous representations of geological surfaces, well trajectories, or property distributions from discrete measurements. Cubic splines are commonly used for their smoothness and computational efficiency.
