Square log

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003559

A simplified representation of a well log where the continuous curve of a measurement is replaced by a series of discrete, constant values over specific depth intervals. This method is used to approximate complex log responses for easier calculation of average properties within zones. It is often applied to porosity or shale volume logs for reservoir characterization.
