Biscuit

A small, oval-shaped, compressed wood wafer, typically made from beech, used in joinery to align and strengthen butt joints. It is inserted into corresponding slots cut by a biscuit joiner in the mating pieces of wood. When glue is applied, the biscuit swells, creating a tight and strong connection.
