Butt joint

A simple woodworking joint formed by placing two pieces of wood end-to-end or edge-to-edge and fastening them together. This joint relies heavily on fasteners or adhesives for strength, as there is minimal interlocking of the wood fibers. It is often reinforced with screws, nails, or biscuits for added stability.
