Butt

To join two pieces of material end-to-end or edge-to-edge without overlapping, creating a flush surface. This method of joining is common in carpentry for connecting boards, panels, or trim. A butt joint is often reinforced with fasteners, glue, or other joinery techniques to provide strength.
