Drive unit

A mechanical assembly that provides the motive power for conveying systems, such as conveyor belts or chain conveyors, in a mine. It typically consists of an electric motor, a gearbox, and a coupling mechanism to transmit torque to the conveyor's head pulley or sprocket. The drive unit's power output is matched to the load and speed requirements of the material being transported.
