An electronic control module is an embedded system that controls one or more electrical systems or subsystems in a vehicle or other complex machinery. It contains a microprocessor, memory, and input/output interfaces to monitor sensors and actuate components. ECMs are prevalent in modern automobiles for engine, transmission, and braking control.
