Equisolid
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006964
Relating to a projection in which equal areas of the image correspond to equal solid angles of the scene, as in equisolid-angle fisheye lenses. The distance of an image point from the centre is proportional to the sine of half the angle from the axis, r equals 2f sin(theta/2), so brightness stays even across the image. It differs from the equidistant projection, in which image distance is proportional to the angle itself.
