Telecentric

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005917

Describing an optical system where the chief rays are parallel to the optical axis in either object space, image space, or both. An object-space telecentric lens maintains constant magnification regardless of the object's distance from the lens, eliminating perspective error. These lenses are widely used in machine vision, metrology, and industrial inspection for precise dimensional measurements.
