Field lens

A lens placed near the intermediate image plane in an optical system, such as a telescope or microscope eyepiece. Its purpose is to redirect diverging light rays from the objective lens towards the eye lens, preventing vignetting and increasing the field of view. This lens does not contribute to the overall magnification of the system.
