Barlow lens

An achromatic lens assembly that increases the effective focal length of a telescope objective. This component is inserted between the eyepiece and the objective lens, magnifying the image without changing the eyepiece itself. A 2x Barlow lens doubles the magnification of any eyepiece used with it.
