Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002231

A unit of catalytic activity in the International System of Units (SI), representing 10^-15 katals. This extremely small measure quantifies the rate of biochemical reactions at a very low level, often used in highly sensitive enzymatic assays or studies of single-molecule catalysis. One femtokatal corresponds to the conversion of 10^-15 moles of substrate per second.
