A typographic ornament, also called a fleuron, used for decoration in printed material. These non-alphanumeric characters often take the form of stylized floral or leaf patterns and are used to mark paragraph breaks, fill white space, or form decorative borders. The use of such ornaments dates back to the earliest days of movable type, with many historic designs still available in modern digital fonts.
