Frisket
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002459
A sheet of paper or other material with sections cut out to expose the areas of a printing form that are to be printed, while masking the areas that should not receive ink. In hand-press printing, the frisket is attached to the tympan and folded over the positioned paper before the assembly is pressed against the inked type. This prevents ink from marking the margins or other non-printing areas of the paper.
