Geothermy

The science and technology associated with extracting and using thermal energy stored within the Earth's crust. This heat originates from the planet's original formation and the radioactive decay of minerals. Geothermal energy is harnessed for electricity generation by using steam from underground reservoirs to drive turbines, or for direct heating applications through systems that circulate water through underground pipes.
