Godet

A triangular or wedge-shaped piece of fabric inserted into a seam, typically in a skirt or sleeve, to add fullness, flare, or movement. This design element allows for a wider hemline or cuff without increasing the width of the main garment panels. Godets are frequently used in dancewear and formal attire.
