Heartbond
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002785
A bond used in thick stone walls where no single header stone spans the full thickness. Two header stones meet end to end at the centre of the wall, and a third stone laid across the wall as a header covers their joint, so the pieces together tie the two faces. It differs from ordinary through-bonding, in which one bond stone runs the whole thickness of the wall.
