Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002889
A garden bed that is artificially heated, typically by a layer of decomposing organic matter such as manure, to provide warmth for germinating seeds or growing young plants. This controlled environment allows for earlier planting in spring or cultivation of heat-loving plants in cooler climates. It extends the growing season and protects seedlings from frost.
