A system that transmits power from a source, such as an engine, to a driven component using pressurized hydraulic fluid. A Hydrostatic Transmission (HST) consists of a variable displacement pump and a hydraulic motor, allowing for continuous, step-less changes in speed and direction without clutches or gears. This type of transmission is frequently found in agricultural machinery, construction equipment, and lawn tractors.
