Clutch

A mechanical device that engages and disengages power transmission between two rotating shafts, such as an engine and a gearbox. It allows the driver to smoothly change gears or stop the vehicle without turning off the engine. Common types include friction clutches, fluid couplings, and electromagnetic clutches.
