High-Speed Uplink Packet Access: A 3G mobile telephony protocol that provides improved data transfer speeds from the mobile device to the network. It enhances the uplink capabilities of Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) by introducing faster scheduling and retransmission mechanisms. HSUPA supports peak uplink data rates of up to 5.76 megabits per second.
