Linnet hole

An opening in the side of a glass furnace through which a glassblower inserts a blowpipe to gather molten glass. This aperture allows access to the hot glass while minimizing heat loss from the furnace interior. The linnet hole is typically equipped with a movable door or stopper to regulate heat and prevent drafts.
