Nosehole
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003933
A small opening in a glass furnace through which a glassblower can reheat a piece of glass during the working process. This secondary heating port allows for localized reheating to keep the glass malleable without returning it to the main furnace chamber, or glory hole. The nosehole is smaller than the glory hole and provides a more focused flame for targeted heat application on specific areas of the glassware.
