Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-007092
A flat, smooth, and heat-resistant surface, typically made of steel or graphite, used in glassblowing to shape and cool molten glass. The glassblower rolls the hot glass on the end of a blowpipe or punty across the marver to form a symmetrical, cylindrical shape before further inflation or manipulation. This initial shaping process is a foundational step for creating most blown glass objects.
