LNA

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003385

A specialized electronic amplifier that strengthens a very weak signal from an antenna without degrading its signal-to-noise ratio. This Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA) is the first active component in a radio receiver chain, placed as close to the antenna as possible to amplify the desired signal while adding minimal unwanted noise. The performance of an LNA is characterized by its noise figure, which is typically below 1 dB for high-performance applications.
