Misrun

An unsuccessful attempt to run a tool or equipment string into a wellbore, where the assembly fails to reach its intended depth or accomplish its objective. Causes include obstructions in the well, equipment malfunction, or adverse hole conditions that create excessive friction or blockages. A misrun requires the tool string to be pulled out of the hole for inspection, repair, or modification before another attempt is made.
