A solid-state flash memory storage device based on the MultiMediaCard standard, used for data storage and transfer in industrial equipment. MMCs are employed in programmable logic controllers and human-machine interfaces for backing up programs, logging operational data, or loading firmware updates. While physically similar to Secure Digital (SD) cards, standard MMCs lack the write-protect switch and have a different pin configuration.
