Mouldboard plough
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-007115
An agricultural implement used for primary tillage that cuts, lifts, and inverts a slice of soil, called a furrow slice. Its key component is the curved metal plate, the mouldboard, which turns the soil over to bury crop residue and weeds while aerating the soil. This tillage method contrasts with conservation tillage systems, which leave more residue on the surface.
