Nicad

A type of rechargeable battery that uses nickel oxide hydroxide and cadmium as electrodes. These batteries offer a long cycle life and can deliver high discharge currents. However, they are susceptible to the memory effect and contain toxic cadmium, leading to their decline in favor of other chemistries.
