Overtop
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004096
A garment designed to be worn as an outer layer over another piece of clothing, such as a shirt or dress. It functions as a light jacket, tunic, or vest and is not intended to be worn alone against the skin. Unlike a coat, an overtop is primarily a fashion layer rather than functional outerwear for warmth or protection from weather, and it is constructed from lighter materials like linen, sheer fabrics, or fine knits.
