Overtrip

A condition where a protective device activates and disconnects equipment from power when no actual fault or hazardous condition exists. This false activation can result from sensor malfunctions, transient electrical disturbances, or incorrect calibration settings. An overtrip leads to unnecessary downtime and production losses in industrial operations.
