Passive restraint

A safety system in a vehicle that operates automatically to protect occupants during a collision without requiring active engagement from the driver or passenger. Examples include airbags, which deploy upon impact, and automatic seatbelts that move into position when the door closes. These systems are designed to reduce injury severity in the event of an accident.
