Perpendicular recording

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004236

A data storage technology used in hard disk drives where magnetic bits are oriented vertically to the disk surface, rather than horizontally. This orientation allows for a higher density of data storage on the platters by reducing the magnetic interference between adjacent bits. It significantly increased the storage capacity of hard drives compared to longitudinal recording.
