Photochopper
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004270
A device that periodically interrupts a light beam, converting a continuous light signal into a pulsed one. This modulation allows for the use of AC amplification techniques, which can significantly improve the signal-to-noise ratio in light detection systems. Photochoppers are often used in spectroscopy and infrared sensing applications.
