Ring modulation
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004859
A type of amplitude modulation where two input signals are multiplied together, producing an output signal that contains only the sum and difference frequencies of the inputs. This process suppresses the original carrier and modulating frequencies. The resulting sound has a metallic or bell-like quality, finding application in synthesizers and audio effects.
